This Fall, Black Girls Unite is partnering with the Elixir of Hope, an organization whose mission is to address the socioeconomic disparities that occur in communities with persons of color, in order to collaborate with their Black Census Project. The Black Census Project is an initiative that was created by the Black Census Lab in order to give Black citizens political power and representation by going within their communities and registering them to vote. From now until November, Elixir of Hope, Black Futures Lab, Black Lives Matter (Lansing chapter), and a list of other organizations and groups will be sponsoring informational events on campus. These events will also serve as a space for Black people in and around the community to get involved in conversations about the various issues and topics that have effected our people for generations. The first event will be on September 10th, from 8-9pm in Erickson Kiva following the Eric Thomas Success Series event!Â
