Happy Women's History Month!

As you may know, this month is Women's History Month! Women's History month first began as a weeklong celebration put on by the Sonoma, California school district in 1978. The purpose of this week was to celebrate and remember the contributions that women had made to various aspects of our society. Over the years, the concept became more widespread and in 1980, President Carter declared that the week of March 8th would officially become a nationally recognized week. In 1987, as a result of relentless petitioning from members of the National Women's History Project, congress finally passed the bill that would turn this week into a month long event.

This month is a time to reflect and focus on the womxn who came before you, yourself, and the womxn who will come after you. Whatever your gifts or talents are, you should be proud of them and know that by just existing you are making a beautiful impact on this world!
